The best way I know to get your thoughts out there is a newsletter or blog post, and then tweaking it for social media. One big idea -- distilled for the different mediums.
I’m still getting decent traffic to my blog after 16 years. It’s my personal perspectives that matter. Your personal perspectives will matter if you just put them out there.
Here’s some reasons to journal or blog your perspectives:
- Contribute to the hive mind... literally AI is aggregating our thoughts... we literally have the power to influence the present and future... think of the butterfly effect. If you say nothing you won’t matter. If you do... you will. It’s that simple.
- You can manifest your future. Some people believe in manifestation. Part of it’s power is writing down you goals, ambitions, and thoughts. Doing it publicly gives it a lot of weight.
- Have written material to pass down to children / relatives. Here’s a thought way out there: you could literally live forever if a an AI bot collects all your written material and your great great great grandchildren could chat with you after your passing. There’s a project on X / Twitter that is doing this right now with John McAfee right now.
- People will network with you. Maybe you’ll meet your heroes or at least find like-minded connections.
- You might get business / notoriety / comments from friends.
- It’s therapeutic. Think of it like meditation...
Blogging has been a core business strategy for content marketing for good reason. It connects on a personal level that corporate speak often misses. Getting cited as a source in ChatGPT / LLMs can also send you traffic and get you recognized as an authority.
So many ways to benefit from just writing your thoughts. Don’t forget, with video so popular now, you could just speak your blog post into the camera. Same content - different medium.
